Gift bundles

Complete gifts rather than single items. Every bundle pairs something the baby wears with something the parent actually reaches for, priced below the sum of its parts.

Buying for a shower and don't know the size? Choose 0-3M. It's the size that gets worn first and the one people consistently under-buy.

  • Smoother against new skin

Viscose fibres are round and smooth in cross-section, so the fabric sits against skin without the faint scratchiness of a short-staple cotton. It is the reason parents get attached to it, and the reason it suits babies who react to everything.

  • Stretches, then recovers

Almost everything here is a 95% viscose, 5% spandex blend. That is what lets a convertible romper fit across several months instead of a few weeks, and why the cuffs still hold their shape after twenty washes.

  • Handles moisture well

Viscose absorbs moisture readily, so it does not feel clammy in summer heat and does not feel cold in a heated room. One weight genuinely works year round indoors.

  • Nothing to rub

Tagless, with no interior seam labels. Two of the most common sources of irritation simply are not there. Small detail, and the first thing a parent notices at 3am.

What "bamboo" clothing actually is

Nearly every bamboo baby garment you can buy, ours included, is rayon made from bamboo. Bamboo stalks are hard and stiff. To get something soft enough for a newborn, the pulp is dissolved and extruded into fibre, and that fibre is rayon, also called viscose.

It is a manufactured fibre with a plant origin. It is genuinely soft, it drapes beautifully, and it stretches. It is also not a miracle, and the process that makes it uses real chemicals. We are not going to tell you it saves the planet.

What we will tell you is exactly what is in each garment, how to wash it so it lasts, and which brand fits your baby best, even when the honest answer is the cheaper one.

Making it last: five rules

Cold water, always

Warm or hot water is the single biggest cause of shrinkage and fibre damage in viscose. If a bamboo garment has shrunk noticeably, heat is almost always the reason.

Wash inside out

Turning the garment inside out puts the abrasion on the interior surface. This is the main defence against pilling, which shows up first on the high-friction zones: backs of thighs, bottoms and knees, where the fabric rubs a car seat or a carpet.

Skip the fabric softener

Softener coats the fibres, reduces absorbency and over time makes the fabric feel worse rather than better. Bamboo viscose does not need it. If your pyjamas have gone stiff, softener is usually the culprit.

Tumble dry low, or hang

High heat is the second-biggest cause of shrinkage. Pull items out slightly damp where you can. Cool iron only, if at all, and most of these never need it.

Do not size up in sleepwear

This one is a safety rule, not a preference. Snug-fitting children's sleepwear is certified in the US on the basis of close fit rather than flame-retardant treatment. Our zippy pajama rompers are never treated with flame retardants and are not flame resistant. Buy the size that fits now.

Thoughtfully Made for Growing Families

At Bambley, we believe the things surrounding your little one should be as gentle as the love you give them. We bring together bamboo viscose essentials from several small brands: soft against delicate skin, tagless, with no interior seam labels, and cut to fit across more than one growth spurt.

We will always tell you exactly what a fabric is and how to look after it, including the parts most shops leave out.

About Bambley

Why buy from a shop that doesn't make anything?

Because every bamboo brand sizes differently, and none of them will ever tell you that. We carry several, we measure them ourselves, and we will tell you which one actually fits your baby.
