Sizing
The one rule that matters most
Do not size up in sleepwear. Snug-fitting baby sleepwear is sold under US Consumer Product Safety Commission rules on the basis that it fits closely. These garments are not treated with flame retardants, and a loose fit removes the safety margin the standard assumes. Buy the size that fits now.
Age vs. actual size
Age labels - 0-3M, 3-6M - are a rough guide, not a measurement. Babies of the same age vary enormously. If your baby is tracking above or below the middle of the growth chart, buy to their measurements rather than their birthday.
Between sizes?
For sleepwear and zippy rompers, take the smaller size - snug fit is the point. For daywear - bodysuits, shorty rompers, bubble rompers - take the larger size; you'll get more months out of it.
Sizing varies between brands
We carry several brands and they do not size identically. This is the single most common source of returns, so: check the size chart on the individual product page before ordering, and if you're unsure, email us. We'd rather spend two minutes answering than process a return.

Is "bamboo" fabric really bamboo?
It's rayon - also called viscose - made from bamboo pulp. It's a manufactured fibre with a plant origin. We explain this properly in our Bamboo Fabric Guide, including why we're careful with the wording.
Is it good for sensitive skin?
The fabric is smooth and the garments are tagless with no interior labels, which removes two common irritants. That's what we can say honestly. "Hypoallergenic" has no legal definition for textiles, so we don't use the word. If your child has diagnosed eczema or a skin condition, ask their paediatrician or dermatologist.
How do I wash it?
Cold water, inside out, no fabric softener, tumble dry low or hang. Heat is what causes shrinkage and softener is what causes the fabric to stop feeling nice. Full detail in the fabric guide.
Will it shrink?
Slightly on the first wash if you use heat. Cold wash and low dry keeps it minor.
Why is it pilling?
Friction - usually car seats, high chairs and carpets, so thighs and bottoms go first. Wash inside out and air dry where you can. A cheap fabric shaver takes pills off without harming the knit.
